The tablet is a 7-inch wonder that seems to be cut out for young minds. It will have Android Ice Cream Sandwich and will run on a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, have its own App Store that has over 10,000 applications for this age group. Much needed and present in this one is a parental control application that helps parents deny Web access.
Just because the Archos Child Pad is targeted towards a rather young audience, the company wasn’t going to power it up with any old slice of Gingerbread. Getting its steam from nothing less than the Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the device works with 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz processor.
The Archos Child Pad is chipped out to sport a noticeably compact and lightweight form factor, keeping its potential user in mind. A 7-inch touchscreen display stretches across its face and though we’d like to know more, that’s the last detail Archos is presently giving out when it comes to the hardware specifications.
The slate will offer access to the Kids App Store supported by AppsLib. The applications will be separated into 14 categories and the 10,000 available apps are set to cover entertainment, games, communication, multimedia, comics, sports, books and more. Flight Frenzy, Pig Rush and Angry Birds as well as a few other apps will arrive pre-loaded onto the Archos Child Pad.

The Archos Child Pad price amounts to around $129. It will be seen in stores towards the end of March.
